Holidays Brixen/South Tirol-experience an inforgettable South Tirol holiday

The municipal city of Bressanone is, in the true sense of the word, located in the heart of South Tyrol and is immersed in a wide valley basin. Beside the city it also comprises the villages nestling on the slopes of Monte Ponente as well as S. Andrea on the slopes of the Plose and the localities of Albes, Elvas, Millan, Eores and Sarnes.

The mild climate of the Valle Isarco valley makes vineyards and fruit orchards flourish in this area. In fact, Bressanone fascinates twice: on the one hand the city has got a varied cultural programme to offer, on the other hand the surrounding villages as well as the local mountain of the Plose make you escape the city life and take you to another world, the world of nature, ideal for taking a break and enjoying relaxation.

A Toerggele hike along the sunny slopes of the Monte Ponente and subsequent stop in one of the typical taverns called Buschenschank, a drink at the event Summer Emotions in the historic town of Bressanone, a shopping evening, a winter walk on the Plose and a visit of the Christmas Market, the episcopal city and the surrounding villages have much to offer in every season and for every taste.

Holiday in the Eisacktal- at every season a big fun

Isarco valley is the historic north-south route between Italy and northern Europe. Its towns and villages have benefitted from this factor through the milleniums.

Vipiteno, a commercial base of the powerful Fugger family in late medieval times. Bressanone, the bishopric town and Chiusa, famous as a residence for artists. Away from the transit route between Bolzano and Brennero, Valle Isarco’s small side valleys are loved for their original centiries-old farmhouses perched on the steep mountainsides and their scattered mountain villages and hamlets.

At Wolfsthurn Castle visitors can glean cultural and historical information on hunting and wildlife as well as folk art relating to hunting and fishing in the Museum of Hunting and Fishing.

The South Tyrolean Museum of Mines Ridanna is one of Europe’s highest mountain mines and also one of the oldest working mines in the Alpine region is now open to visitors. Geodes from Tiso, minerals from the Alps.

Gilfenklamm

In the Gilfenklamm ravine near Vipiteno. The stream roars, the spray flies, water thunders hard against the rock: a secure adventure footpath leads through the gorge with innumerable step-ways and bridges.
